Are your doctors taking new patients?
Currently all of the physicians are accepting new patients in our Mill Valley office. In our San Francisco office, Dr. Rosenberg is the only doctor accepting patients and she is able to accept a limited number each month. Please call the Mill Valley or San Francisco office to sign up with one of our physicians or to ask any questions about becoming a patient in our practice.
How far in advance should I schedule my next well visit?
Our physicians open their schedules three months in advance. The sooner you are aware you need an appointment and the sooner you call, the more options you will have to choose from. There are some times that are in high demand such as after school and first thing in the morning. If you need a physical exam for school admission, camp admission or any other activity, please plan ahead and schedule the exam as far in advance as possible.
What do I do if my child just needs a vaccine, not a doctors appointment?
If your child needs a vaccine that is not going to be given at a doctors appointment, call the office you would like to go to and set up an appointment with a medical assistant.
What ages should my child have a well care physical exam?
Well children check-ups are normally scheduled at 2-4 days of age, 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 months, 2 years, 2 1/2 years, 3 years and every year after.
How do I get a referral when my child needs to see a specialist?
If you are a HMO member of Brown and Toland Physicians or Hill Physicians , or another plan that requires a referral to see a specialist, contact your Primary Care Physician to speak with them about your need to see a specialist. They can refer you to the proper specialist and generate the necessary paperwork.
If my child sees a doctor in the practice who is not our Primary Care Physician, will the insurance pay for it?
Yes. We are a group practice and the physicians cover for each other when your Primary Care Physican is unavailable.
What should I do if traveling out of town and my child becomes sick?
If this occurs during regular office hours, please call our office. We will help assess the situation and determine what course of action, if any, is necessary. Please note, the doctor will not be able to prescribe you any medication without seeing your child. If this occurs during hours when our office is closed, you may seek care at a local pediatrician’s office, walk-in clinic or emergency room. It is a good idea to contact your insurance company to inform of them of the situation and they can assist you in locating a participating provider.
