1. Use Clear Nit and Egg Releaser (loosens nits and comes with a good comb.)

2. Wash with Prell (original) or good dish washing detergent. Do not use conditioners; the hair must be completely stripped of all residues.

3. Towel dry thoroughly.

4. Apply Nix. Take at least 25 minutes for this process; separate hair and rub in well. It is important to take time with the application of this medication. Use one full bottle per head.

5. Wrap hair in plastic wrap (e.g. Saran) or use disposable shower cap and seal tightly. Leave on for two to four hours.

6. Rinse with water. Use comb, tweezers, or fingers to remove every nit in the hair. This is crucial.

7. Totally clean the environment – beds, rugs, pillows, clothes, cars, etc. Washables in hot water. Non-washables should be bagged in plastic for 14 days.

8. Use a hair dryer on hair preventatively: heat helps kill the lice.
